A huge demonstration of the PGFTU and trade unionists in Palestine : we need a ratification of the minimum wages and a confirmation of the social justice & protection

Palestine General Federation of trade unions (PGFTU) organized a huge demonstration headed the headquarter of the Palestinian legislative council to demand for ratification of the minimum wage and the confirmation of the social justice & protection system for the workers .

The General Secretary of the PGFTU Brother Shaher Sae’d was in the front of the demonstration to support the workers and the unions in their demands. Many of the executive members of PGFTU, heads of the unions, women committees from all regions in palestine , members of legislative council have taken part in this activity .

Sa’ed asked the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas to release a presidential decree-law legislative in definition of the minimum wages and a confirmation of the social justice & protection system for workers in order to stop being exploited practically to take the exploitation of the working women .

From the place of the Palestinian legislative council Sae’d declared the intention of the PGFTU to continue the raising up steps in a press conference to announce the numbers of the workers signatures on the minimum age campaign that the pgftu launched in the beginning of January this year which will may reach to half million signature .

On behalf of the PGFTU and the women department Brother Sae’d submitted a memorandum to the Prime minister Dr. Salam Fayad , which contains all the demands of the women department in the PGFTU:

1.Defining the minimum wages and confirming the social protection system taking into consideration that the working woman is the first victim of declining the wages .

2.Enhancing the equality and to stop all kinds of discriminations .

3.Increasing the percentage of the women in the labor market through creation of decent work opportunities .

4.Enhancing the mainstreaming of gender in all aspects.

5.Activating the juridical system to establish specialist courts in work disputes .

6.Observation and monitoring the implementation of health and safety measures to secure the safety of the working women .
